*sigh* I have been really stressed lately and I think it's starting to affect my health.
There have been some changes at work in the past two weeks and because of that, my workload and responsibilities have almost doubled, which I am not happy about. I thought I was handling it all, and I was getting everything done and my managers were all complimenting my great work under the circumstances.
And then yesterday, things just hit a wall. I got up in the morning and felt horrible. I just felt dizzy and "off". I can't describe it but I felt like I was going to pass out at any minute. Of course, I had to go to work because I had an event that I couldn't miss. But by midday I couldn't take it and had to leave work. Luckily my husband picked me up.
As soon as I got hom I felt better. So, I definitely think it was because I had a long weekend to look forward to. But I am concerned that things are just going to be getting worse and my health is going to suffer.
What do you when you're stressed?

One bottle of wine, one glass...
OR sometimes I will go buy myself something nice.
Well that's no good panda. It definitely sounds like your body is trying to tell you something. This may not be an option in your situation but, have you tried making a list about what does and what does not work with your current situation and then scheduling time to sit down with your boss and discuss? Aside from that, I find that when I'm not too lazy, Power or traditional Ashtanga yoga works wonders.
I have found, though, that when my stress is unbearable for too long of a period of time, I get sick. I had the flu three times between Dec. and March. No fun.
I had a similar problem back at my last job. I was feeling very overwhelmed and would feel very dizzy to the point that I had to step out of meetings as the room was spinning.
After examining all possible causes I figured it was stress from the job.
Since than I have TRIED to take a more laid back approach to life.
Whatever it is - worrying it won't help. It just makes things worse.
Especially when work is concerned. You can try your best and that's all. =) It's just a job in the end, right? It's not worth failed health.
Also, talking to your boss about your worries will help I think. If you are feeling overwhelmed it doesn't hurt to talk to someone about it.
& remember to breathe!!!! isn't that odd? but when I get stress I actually sometimes forget to breathe at the normal rate & hold my breath and I find that it causes additional dizziness. Doens't that sound silly?
I know that's easier said than done, but just try not to stress. People kind of laugh when I say that, but it actually is something that takes an effort and thought.
