If you haven't read it yet Margaret George's Autobiography of Henry VIII is brilliant, its over 80 pages but, it doesn't seem like it at all.

Hi Clare!

I love the Autobiography of Henry VIII! I had bought it a couple of years ago but was put off by the huge size (not exactly something I can carry easily with me on the busride to work), but I started reading it last year for some reason (I think I was sick in bed) and I couldn't stop! I loved the little notes from Will. It was one of my favourite books from 2008! :)

I know what you mean I carry my books to work so never ever read hardbacks! Have you read Lady Elizabeth by Alison Weir, I personally didn't think it was as good as Innocent Traitor but, I love anything about Elizabeth and it was still a good read.

I just bought 3 more books (I got a gift certificate to a bookdstore for my birthday) and Lady Elizabeth is one of them but I haven't read it yet! LOL.

The other 2 are Brief Gaudy Hour by Margaret Campbell Barnes, (which I'm currently reading) and The Last Wife of Henry VIII by Carolly Erickson (haven't read that yet either)

I really liked Innocene Traitor (got a little teary-eyed over it!).

Wow, it's so great to chat with someone who reads these too! None of my friends are really into historical fiction!

I know what you mean most of the girls I work with only read chick lit - I love Fantasy as well as historical fiction.
Brief Gaudy Hour is really good I read another of Margaret Campbell Barnes recently which was really good it was about Anne of Cleves. The Carolly Ericksson one was really good too.

I loved the Anne of Cleves story by MCB - that's the reason I picked up Brief Gaudy Hour, although I think I like the Anne of Cleves one better. It was so interesting to hear her story for a change!
